I don't know what's so surprising. Denjiro being Kyoshiro was getting increasingly more obvious as the flashback went on. Though I'm glad that point of contention is now dead.

Also, the narration at the end of the chapter stated the story was rushing towards the present, and that's technically true. We see the chapter ends with the Kyoshiro and Hiyori page, with Hiyori as Komurasaki, which is around the timeframe of the current story. That means we might get some insight as to what they've been up to. Maybe it transitions to Kyoshiro in the present, remembering what Oden said now that we know he's Denjiro.

Did I miss something...? Haven't people already realized that Zoro is going to fight against King. Are we seriously still going through the mental gymnastics of thinking Oda will go against his established arc tropes? Come on now people....

I think most people believe hes gonna fight king and its gonna be badass

It just feels like all the zoro and samurai/wano related stuff has so much potential in it
It comes off that people care more about him fighting strong characters and thats it. And yeah thats cool and all but idk i expect to see more from zoro than just the usual.
Especially in a land as rich as wano a land of swordsman. It might even be the place zoro or at least his family originated from

Seeing a character fail or be worthless every time they appear is going to make me think very little of them, E.G. Smoothie and Jack. Why would I get excited to see Smoothie try to stop Luffy when she couldn't apprehend Brook, couldn't hit the Sunny and almost sunk her own ship. Likewise, Jack exists to be hurt and used to measure other's strengths.

Dunno why them suddenly being a Yonkou's top subordinate's instantly means I need to be hyped for them, especially if their showings in the story for 100~ chapters are awful.

Wow Denjiro is Kyoshiro.....gotta take my L......not that I don't like it but was hoping Kyoshiro was an indipendent character....this makes the BP + Orochi feel more dangerous imho since they "Lost" a very strong dude I mean from Orochi's side Kyoshiro seemed to be the top dog now Zoro vs King seem to be even more a thing

Plot helping the strawhats excape has nothing to do with Smoothie or Jack's capabilities. Unlike Katakuri, someone the fanbase constantly hyped up, they've never actually lost against the SH's or their allies. Katakuri accomplished just as much as they did, nothing, but because he had a major fight which gave him the illusion of actually doing something, they get shitted on and he doesn't?

Oda saving Smoothie and Jack for another occasion is not a fault of their characters so stop treating them like it is. The hate spewed against them is completely unwarranted.

Just "salty" people are happy if nothing at all happens with the zoro and wano/samurai plot because he'll fight someday strong
