After reading the spoilers, and thereafter the comments I have mixed feelings.

On one hand, the very reason we fell in love with Luffy is that his greatest strength was his character and his will, which made his "mediocre" devil fruit appear even stronger. The entirety of One Piece is based on "if you want it bad enough, you'll get it". Redesigning the entirety of Luffy's powers by revealing that all along he had a different Devil Fruit (and a Mythical Zoan at that) which (as signs suggest) is probably overpowered is in contrast with the concept. Luffy winning fights as a paramecia rubber fruit user is much more enjoyable than him going Goku mode. So the phrase "Gomu Gomu No" we have so strongly associated with Luffy is wrong?

On the other hand, it might be too soon to judge anything but for now, I stand with the first part of my comment.

1. In Romance Dawn Version 2, Garp said that Luffy's DF is worth 5 Billions (Same as Ope Ope No Mi & Whitebeard's Bounty)

2. A Fan asked Oda why he chose Rubber DF for Luffy (Which was described as a Weak Ability). This was Oda's Answer:

"Ahaha, that is true. It must seem like a Mystery when you consider all the other strong and cool abilities. The answer is simple. I have picked the (Most Ridiculous Ability). If the protagonist were the typical strong guy, I doubt I could continue on with this for long. No matter how serious the story gets, Luffy is there to stretch and inflate. Orochi is likely getting killed very soon. Denjiro isn’t important. Momo and Yamato is just going to see Luffy win, then Momo will likely hold up the falling onigashima until everyone escapes like Oden did.

Just about everything here is possible to take place after kaidos defeat. Just like the Buster call took place after Luccis defeat

I knew perfectly well that this was going to happen and that the forum was going to be full of hate without having seen the WHOLE fucking chapter (for the record, this time even the leakers have warned us). Anyway, to each his own, many of you are going to have to eat some of your words in a couple of days for not being patient...

About Spoilers, I will only say one thing. Now I'm really DYING to know what the hell the Akuma no Mi are, they are the key piece we are missing in this big puzzle. I'm sure that when we find out what they really are, everything is going to fit together much better and things that may not make much sense now, will be much more coherent.

After watching this chapter I need to know their true origin, their purpose, their relationship with Joy Boy, with the Empty Century, Vegapunk's investigations.... After reading the Gorousei's sentence about the Zoan ("Zoan fruits have a mind of their own") the first thing that came to my mind was Enel and his Goro Goro no Mi, and how his fruit was activated to give him a heart massage when Viper attacked him with the Dial.

And another thing I need to know already is what Shanks and the Gorousei talked about, because clearly something about the Gomu Gomu no Mi they had to talk about. The reaction they had when they found out that Zunesha was in Wanokuni, is not casual.
