TBH I don't mind Luffy's fruit transforming into an ever adaptable devil fruit. I'm gonna let this play out for a few chapters to see how Oda handles it, the idea isn't bad it's just sudden.

The powerup or design or new form isn't the issue nor is his awakening but the fact it is a mythical zoan DF ; I feel betrayed

Like as far as we know, none of the other mythical Zoans ever existed in the actual One piece world but they at least existed in our real world’s stories. There is no “Nika” in any mythology of our real world. It seems entirely made up for the One Piece universe

Notice something. If Luffy is hurting Kaido WITHOUT HAKI then that means Oda is doing the Nami punching Luffy gag BUT AS A SERIOUS FIGHT… Like the way toon force allowed Nami to damage Luffy, Luffy is now Damaging Kaido as well WITHOUT all the fancy haki he learned
