now that we know what happened in ch 1044, did Luffy actually die and if he died why did kaido not question why Luffy is back to life, rather he as a similar reaction as when luffy came back to the rooftop with momo, none of which is how you would react to someone you just killed

His "voice" disappeared according to Momo womho is by far the best one at feeling this (he could feel Luffy's stamina) and we saw Law couldn't feel his presence either. He was definitely dead but that death awakened his df probably because he was the only one worthy of awakening it since Joyboy now that we know that Zoan df have a will of their own

It's mythical zoan df it's a fruit that carries name of a god according to the Gorosei, if it can escape them for 800 years waiting for specific someone i don't think it would be strange if it had the ability to revive.
