To me this is similar to when luffy was about to fall in his fight against Lucci and then he remembered everything Robin went through because of him and the WG. He picked himself up before falling down and attacked with jet Gatling. This to me seems like he is reminding himself of why he is fighting.
Tama: being hungry all the time and he promised her that she would have enough to eat her fill for the rest of her life
Momo: is the heir to the shogunate and asked Luffy for help, he is the central figure here just like Vivi in alabasta.
Kinemon: was the first one to ask Luffy for help and is like the leader of the red scabbards.
Pedro: sacrificed himself on WCI to make it for them possible to arrive in wano and defeat Kaido

This are the 4 names that are most important in this raid and fight

We know how rare death is in OP, especially to allies/good guys. WB, Ace and Pedro are still the only ones. And Pedro died for the crew to survive, ofcourse Luffy will remember him

Im not sure what to think. Hes a great character and would be great to have him back, but if Oda wanted him alive he shouldnt have done that.

There is not a single day I doubt pedro to be nakama in this past 2 years. His chance is going strong as always

Not really wild though.

It’s One Piece where death is rare and Perospero survived the exact same explosion.

Pedro won’t join the crew (way better character than Carrot though) but him surviving would be no surprise.

It didn't happen though, lmao. That's the point. Luffy talks about all the people important to him in shaping his will to defeat Kaido. Momo, Tama, Kin emon...even dead Pedro from almost 200 chapters ago. Yet he doesn't mention squat about Kaido's own flesh and blood daughter who has lamented to Luffy how much Kaido abused and how she wants him gone.

Luffy just doesn't give a fuck about her. He cares about Yamao about as much as he cares about X Drake. She's just random strong ally he met last minute who wants to help out. She has no meaningful bearing on the narrative of the arc and is an afterthought in both Luffy and the readers' minds.

The sake brewers used to preach about how significant it was that Luffy was defeating Yamao's oppressor for her...Yet here he is, literally shouting out the meaningful people to him, and completely ignoring Yamao. She's not even the 4th most significant person relevant to Luffy in Kaido's defeat. When you also include in Raizo, Inu, Neko, Kiku, Hyogoro and Yasuie, only then might Yamao be remotely relevant in Luffy's mind. Not even in the top 10.

He just doesn't care. To think there's any chance she becomes a straw hat when her and her struggles are THAT irrelevant to the crew and Luffy, is an absolute joke.
