The Watcher is an informativerole that can target a player at Night and learn who, if anybody, targeted that player the same Night (but not what actions were performed on that player).

Watchers have been seen as each alignment.

This version of Watcher, and only this version of Watcher, is considered Normal on mafiascum.net.

Variations
Some moderators will tell Watchers whose targets were not visited by anyone "No Result", which is indistinguishable from the result they would have gotten if the Watcher were Roleblocked.

The Watcher has very few variants; however, there are many related Roles:

• The Tracker learns who a player targeted, but not what action that player performed.
• The Follower learns what action a player performed, but not who that player targeted.
• The Watcher learns who targeted a player, but not what actions were performed on them.
• The Voyeur learns what actions were performed on a player, but not who targeted them.
• The Motion Detector learns if any actions were performed by or on a player, but not what they were, or who else was involved.

Previously, the Watcher meant someone who could tell if someone performed an action at Night; this role is now referred to as Reporterand is actually a variant of Tracker/Follower. There is discussion about this here.

It basically says that Tracker is a variant of the Watcher but fundamentally still a Watcher role.

An explanation to why Drago made my role this way could be that this game has no other variants and so he considered my Tracker variant simply as a Watcher role labeling it as "Watcher".

Moreover there's no way an experienced player like me could commit such a silly mistake if mafia. I would have simply claimed Tracker, but I have been very honest about my role.

Already said before that i didn't see the point in you doing this, and i actually already suspected @Rej since last phase, but my issue is the nuance in definition. This is what it says

Which means a watcher can
> target a player at night
> Learn who targetted the player you targetted

Which is different from

> Learn who the player you targetted actually targetted

And a variation can have similar attributes but not entirely the same. If we use a manga like naruto for example, totsuka was mentioned to be a variation of kusanagi, with both able to expand themselves, but kusanagi didn't have sealing techniques

So if the definition is correct, if you targetted @Rej, you should have seen who targetted him not the opposite
And it's once again mentioned here

UNLESS Beta has a role similar to Town of Salem's Executioner, Beta is 100% townie. He has nothing to gain from revealing himself to get Rej lynched if he's scum.

Though I suppose Beta could be jester... But again, Rej isn't even making a strong case for himself. "Don't vote me guys, I'll kill someone who votes me haha!"

We are, but I wouldn't do so frivolously. Not yet at least. Presumably, we only have 1 doctor. They can't protect all of us and I doubt we can test out / cut through every bullshit claim.

Thanks for the information. When I played a mafia game on another forum, revealing your role was absolutely forbidden, even making fake claims about your role. It's nice knowing that you can at least indirectly say something about your abilities.

Until we whittle down scum by a few people, I wouldn't give roles away still. But yeah, push come to shove? Don't be afraid to do so, if it means gaining some trust from the town

All I can safely affirm is that in some games I had played in the past some roles happened to be labeled without their variation term, even if technically featuring variation usages.

But that only happened in the case scenario there weren't multiple variants, or else it would have made no sense. So basically for ex. any version of Watcher labeled as Watcher as long as still a Watcher role.

I need to find into the game for now, but after day one, i find some actions suspicious.

So what do we know:
1. Flower is dead - but we dont know the role, which sounds for me like a third party role. The "murderers" wouldnt kill some of their own for sure.

2. Finalbetas reveal. I dont like early reveals and in the games i played before, it was forbidden. Also he just makes himself the first target for the enemys. So why? Thats to early and to random.

3. Why kill flower? Because she was on the right track? Hell no, that would be way to easy. If i would be a murderer, i would exactly use that situation, where people now thinks she was right and get killed out of it, because like that you get one free night, one free kill and all is resulting in absolute confusion. So for now, i would assume flower wasnt on the right path.
