Pretty good chapter. Interesting cover as it looks like Reiju and Ichiji are invading Pudding's location, but not wearing their raid suits. Some time has passed since the Germa escaped so I imagine they healed their wounds and made a plan to return. The cover story is still too young for any big twists.
Ninja art: make all the bitches wet. Lovely that the burnt down Oden castle gets tied to Kaido's castle, with one Scabbard making sure to prepare countermeasures against future fires. Funny how Oda goes out of his way to deny Nami + Zeus, Usopp, even Zunisha any role in this so we get the Raizou and Jinbe show (oddly no Kawamatsu). Given the amazing Maki Maki no mi and the lake it can store in a single scroll was wasted in a ninja staring contest, Raizo needed another moment. The loser in all this is the polar bear who couldn't take the heat as it becomes clear the world is still not ready for Bepo.
Have you seen this man? Missing since Chapter 1009.
It's one thing to hide from Orochi in plain sight for 20 years, but in a war zone with a raging hellfire or a biblical flood? The champ doesn't give up a good hiding spot that easily. It would be funny if the water dousing Orochi is what forces Denjiro to move.
A plain honest Nika. Kaido once again asks G5 Luffy to identify himself and this time he does it the only way a Luffy would. It eases doubts that Nika or Joy Boy have overwritten some aspect of Luffy's personality. Luffy was overjoyed and laughing, taken by surprise by his musical heart and the G5 Hody-like energy pumped into his white form. It was Luffy's mind and body catching up to his ability - the way Kaido describes Awakening. And yet Zunisha drops the F-bomb the same chapter, making it clear Fate Vs Free Will is a defining conflict the series plans to tackle going forward. Luffy with the thunderbolt at the end looks like his take on the Nika silhouette wielding the spear. How nice that the Sun God is finally unleashing the power of plasma, though honestly it makes about as much sense as Thor Elephant Gun or Skypeia Luffy deflecting a bolt beam with a kick.
Zoro, Killer and Bepo carried like luggage this chapter. Just #2 things. With the flames of tension extinguished, the chapter ending teases Momo saving Onigashima as the next subplot to be resolved. Kaido survived the ending of Volume 103 and may now make it all the way to the magical 1056. Oda must be salivating. It's not actually that crazy if you consider the lingering subplots (Apoo and Inbi sweating hard), the Kaido flashback, with the very last event being Kaido's defeat. Break week and Golden Week, we're suffering for now.
