Break Week Why was Mihawk‘s presence in Marineford so lackluster?

There wasn't really any reason for him to give a shit

He was fighting with almost no interest at all, he didn't use a single named attack and he didn't even use haki

There wasn't any actual point of interest for Mihawk there and Zoro wasn't involved

It will be different in the Final War, since the WG started hunting Mihawk and Zoro will be there

Mihawk will have a reason to fight

he did not have any reason to fight but being ignored by Marco, whitebeard and stalled by vista was really bad.

He literally stated he was interested in Vista

Without even trying to insult Mihawk, Shanks is just a far more important character because of his connection to Luffy. Mihawk is the sole goal of a supporting main character, not THE main character. This is like how Katakuri received far more prevelance as a top YC than King did or Shiryu probably will. Or how Kaido is receiving far more focus than Big Mom. If you aren't related to Luffy specifically, your panel time in the series will be less than those who are relatively your equal.

Tbh, Mihawks only be chance of relevance comes with him potentially allying with Shanks for the final war. Currently the man solely exists for Zoro to surpass him, and what he needs is actual relevance in the endgame besides this. His relationship with Shanks will help, as he may ally with him while Shanks pursues whatever hidden motive he may have (which his crew supports clearly)..

Dude, he wasn't trying at all, he had no motivation to fight

Why is it bad?

To me it feels more like you guys wanna make Mihawk look bad, so you focus on that, it's that simple

Oda's powerscaling was shit during Marineford, he set what would be the "top grade power" in Marineford pre-TS, but then after the TS the powerscaling just completely took a shit on what Marineford had in store

Many characters like Marco, who the community made fun of because of Marineford, started getting more powerful and respect once they showed up again in the Post-TS fighting

Same thing will happen to Mihawk, you just have to wait

It makes zero sense for Zoro end goal dream, the fight that has been built up since the first chapters of the story, to be a fraud like so many Mihawk haters want to make him look like

If Mihawk is Zoro's final fight, that means Mihawk is at least stronger than what Zoro is right now, and since Zoro is YC1 level, that puts Mihawk at around Admiral level at least, but only Oda knows how much stronger he wants to make Mihawk

it's that simple, just wait

Oda did pretty good with portraying the admirals as monsters tbh

Even moreso whitebeard even with his sickness fuckin him up every few minutes

And shanks obviously stole the show in the end

Tho he could have done better with garp and sengoku tbf
Eh the only admiral who seemed like a real threat (before WB BTFO'd him into the ground) was Akainu
Kizaru was fucking around as usual and Ig Aokiji did ok vs Jozu

Yeah, he said he was interested to see what the best swordsman on the Whitebeard's crew was like, yet he used no named attacks and no haki, they didn't even damaged each other at all, they just kept sparring and fucking around, neither had an actual serious reason to fight each other. Mihawk was in Marineford only for show.

You can see both Vista and Mihawk were just swordsmen checking each other out, they were smiling and talking mid fight, they weren't serious at all

aokiji defeated jozu pretty easily, garp one shotted macro, and even if kizaru was pretty casual he was not stalled by someone he should be able to defeat easily he also treated whitebeard disrespectfully as he won during their clash

They were all decently impressive against wb (akainu the most obviously) and just how their presence was seen by everyone during the war

Also it helps they don't really have any vista, luffy, crocodile, etc moments

Vista didn’t use named attacks either

I mean, I guess that makes sense as well? Mihawk didn't really care to be there (like most Warlords) he went out of obligation. It's not like he held a grudge against any of them, he kinda dicked around and just up and left once Shanks showed up.

Man, you can love Luffy and Shanks however you like, you can overhype and overpower them as much as you want

But there's no reason to try and shit Mihawk like this

In fact, Mihawk being stronger only makes Shanks stronger :kayneshrug:

If you wanna say Shanks is above Mihawk, that's fine, but you still have to understand they were rivals, so however strong Shanks is, Mihawk wouldn't be that far behind, maybe one tier bellow

What is the logic behind Shanks being a Emperor and you guys saying Mihawk is a fraud weaker than a YC4? Zoro's final goal and dream is to beat a YC4, when he already has defeated a YC1 of the World's Strongest Creature

It makes no sense at all

It just sounds like pure weak hatred
