It would be awesome and the connection between
Ray-Luffy-Zoro-Mihawk would have another majestic view
also it would be cool and explain why Mihawk and Shanks dulled so often and why they stay friendly not only because of there daily duells but also due having the same mentor

Also it would hype the characters more than have a dull relations than like any other manga

Forgot to add: This is why Mihawk doesn't have a DF. Both of his parents have insane haki powers, and he inherited the Kuja haki strength.

Also, I wish I'd worded the poll better. I don't mean that protecting his parents is the only reason he became a Warlord--obviously he did it to find better opponents. But the fact that he holds that position keeps the Marines from actively seeking out R & S.

I don't know if this was shared already, but a small note, Zoro was the first one to make it back to Sabaody, and he met up with Rayleigh and Shakky first. They would've obviously talked about Zoro's training under Mihawk. But of course, that was never shown. In fact, the entire conversation about Zoro's return was skipped over. Maybe to prevent something from slipping through?

Now that I think about it the axis Luffy-Shanks-Mihawk-Zoro would be complete with that all have some connection to each other

Shanks and Mihawk due Rayleigh and rivalry

Luffy and Zoro captain and friend

Luffy and Mihawk due Rayleigh

Zoro and Mihawk due rivalry, training, and Rayleigh

Luffy and Shanks obvious

Zoro and Shanks due Rayleigh and Mihawk

Also Ray teached Luffy and Mihawk teaching Zoro would also gain another meaning

now the best

Luffy wants to surpass Shanks and Zoro wants to surpass Mihawk due same object have both who have a close bond like the special bond of Mihawk and Shanks both are somehow not only rival but also idols both want to surpass and having

This the best theory I read so far and would give the manga another hype and stuff for discussion

The difference is mihawk and imu have red eyes the rest dont
Alright, I could buy that. Both seem to be the only ones with RED ringed eyes. We won't know more until we learn more about Mihawk or Im, and Oda is being stingy with info about both of them. There are other red-eyed characters though. I'm expecting the Numbers to have red eyes like the fog monsters from Thriller Bark. But red + ringed is limited to those 2 characters. I just think the rings are a design choice to show anger/intensity though.

The way mihawk carries himself like loyalty as well just like imu on his throne makes me believe they’re connected. We’ll have to wait and see.

If you go down this road further, we see the shape of Mihawk's sword in Mariejois when we meet Im
It's also on Perona's crown
The humandrills on Kuraigana also had weapons (at least 7 years old) with the same shape
Is Yoru's shape an ancient royal symbol???

If Mihawk is connected to Im, then the clue is in Yoru! What do you think @gojo and @Zowo?

I like the connection. I concour regarding Mihawk's reason becoming Warlord were because of his parents.

Honestly retired pirates are less of a threat to the Govt , Rayleigh never stayed at one place so they never figured out where he was.

I would like to seemore theory on this. I would say he became Warlord partly to prove he is the best swordsmen or to rival shanks. Perhaps, there is more than we think Mihawk is super secretive.

Nobody asked why Mihawk is looking after Perona ?

Is she from royal background ? Why did moriah recruit her in first place ?
Yeah! She's the Ghost Princess, but what does that mean? Is there a Ghost King and Queen? A Ghost Kingdom?
We're told that Moria "found" her. Like a Bell-Mere situation (raised as family)? Or was it more like a Doffy and Sugar/Monet situation (raised to become part of their fighting force)?
Also, that implies that this was a time when Moria was traveling around and not just restricted to Thriller Bark.
She's Moria's only child and his only heir. I can't wait to see them reunite!

Mihawk took her in since he knew she had nowhere else to go and might not make it on her own, I think. He thought he could order her around at first, but it didn't work out xD

I think Mihawk's agreement was to patrol Paradise and to become a name that scared people from attempting the GL. In exchange, the WG got his sword on their side (when he felt like it) and his parents would be left alone as long as they didn't cause trouble. That's why he occasionally goes to East Blue, just to make sure his name stays out there. It benefits him as well, because if his name is well known, then hotshot swordfighters will seek him out for a fun duel.
