The black blade isn’t essential for being the strongest overall fighter, even presumably as the kind of swordsman Roger is. Pretty clear that Roger isn’t a swordsman in the same vein as Mihawk considering the fact that Mihawk achieved a feat that requires more than just stronger CoC or willpower to achieve. Oden couldn’t blacken Enma yet Anyone who thinks Mihawk is overall > Roger because of that would basically have to ignore all the established portrayal that puts Roger/WB above the rest.

I believe Roger is above Mihawk, but why use garbage arguments like that instead of saying that Roger was = or ~ to Primebeard, who was the WSM?

Nah man think about it, the last 3 fights got it properly. Imo, it's because Oda hasn't gotten to the "threshold" of Kaido and Luffy's fight yet, same with theirs. That "one" chapter that has them fight until the winning blow.

Like I remember feeling the same way about Katakuri, but his Vs chapter came at the last chapter of their fight. Granted, yes, not every villain gets one, but Oda already started the trend with the other major strawhats and allies getting it

Yes, Roger and Wb PRIME, were put by kaidou as well as Shanks as only being able to fight him, and not being superior people to him, kaido sees it that way, that WB and Roger are only people capable of fighting him, and not superior to him, Shanks is included in the statement and has the same treatment as Roger and Wb Prime, meaning that Shanks is at least on par with Roger and Wb Prime.


The strongest of this era > strongest of the past era.

KAIDO > ROGER.
With this, the level of the other characters from the Kaidou era will also rise above the previous era.
