That’s how it’s always been for his powerups though. Why would Oda change it now. Snakeman got 2 pages of gas before Katakuri was countering lmao. Oda loves making Luffy the underdog even after a huge powerup

The difference is, that Luffy was not a match for Katakuri before Snakeman. And Snakeman did not perform less than his previous modes. The same goes for Boundman vs Doffy.

After seeing Luffy tanking all Kaido's attacks, I don't see him falling for anyone else.

I can see Blackbeard, Mihawk and Im still eventually be too much for Luffy at the present moment at least, but that's impossible to know for sure

Yes, Gear 5 has made Luffy lose control.of his senses. Maybe he is not used to it yet. The Devil Fruit has takem control of Luffy.

I think it's because of Nika's influence on Luffy; it's a huge downside to his ridiculously strong ability. He completely lacks a sense of danger in G5. That could be fatal against lethal opponents like Akainu or Aokiji, for example.
