Lol, we had this exact discussion back in 883 when Luffy used Kong Gun against Katakuri at the end of the chapter.

People seriously thought Katakuri blocked it... That's just how Luffy's "springiness" works. It's delayed. Wait for the follow through.

A single panel where we can clearly see Luffy releasing the punch and the motion lines indicating backward movement while Katakuri's body breaks the sound barrier is nowhere the same as multiple pages dedicated to showing a continuous action of Kaido blocking Luffy's punch.
