Do people not realise they’re talking about fights from almost 12 years ago and 2 years ago in the manga.
Look at how the main characters grew in that time and also remember that the power systems were not anywhere near how fleshed out as they are now.

Oda did a great job making a character which is meant to be hated. But no one can refute the claim of he is one of the stringest in the series and his fight would be epic against anyone. Only thing he won't do like others are. He won't leave the body like kaido did. He will go for kill right from the beginning. Aokiji was an exception ofcourse.
