Yeah but that dismissed the point that I made with it being different then a normal zoan, the run of the mill are obv transformations to a monstrous form hence chopper but kaido doesn't need to change to be awakened IMO because azura dragon is already a god. unless there is a mythological human form of the god that is very well known in this was his actual awakening.

I think that's a massive waste of energy and I'm not sure why that makes sense. We already know awakening takes a lot out of the user. Gear 5 is literally killing Luffy. I'm not sure why Kaido would automatically use awakening to fight his opponents prior to 1026, especially Yamato.

If we miraculously get more fight (his awakening/flashback), then it explains why it hasn't been done yet, because we wouldn't be at the climax of the fight when usually VS chapters are called.

But the flashback is pretty necessary imo. We've seen small glimpses of Kaido's flashback particularly through King and BM, and we've been told that there's a specific reason Kaido is in Wano. We've also been told Wano is possibly related to the One Piece, that Wano was called the "Country of Gold" and we've also seen that King thought Kaido was Joyboy

I think a Kaido flashback would probably shed light on all of that

It isn't. Infact it's worse since they can get that without having to be as badly injured now lol

The problem with this is Zoan and Paramecia awakenings are clearly different. Paramecia's are enhanced attacks or abilities that affect the environment or target. Zoan awakenings (by Kaido's definition) are obvious/complete transformations.

Luffy, being a mythical zoan, has both Paramecia and Zoan traits (he transforms, strengthens his rubber abilities and can transform the environment and victim into rubber).

By this affect, Kaido really should have another major form like Luffy. Not a "susanoo" like armor where he has the same dragon form. Not a temporary transformation he uses sometimes when he makes big attacks. None of these fit what Luffy does.

This is why it's jarring that we haven't seen anything yet from him, or even if we will at all. He really "should" have exactly what Luffy has being a zoan user that has defined Luffy's own Awakening.

Oda could easily write that his control over hybrid and drunk modes are his awakening and that his original hybrid could not change shape as he does (bigger arms, rounder face ...)

Right now what would be far worse writing is to tell us Kaido's trump card is his awakening after having him tell Luffy that him awakening doesnt matter and haki trumps it all.

Also Oda is really trying to sell us on that "Kaido is reaching his limit" shit and it's backed up by the flame clouds disappearing so him holding back on an awakening for THAT LONG would be both incoherent and make him look VERY stupid
