Kaido believes might makes right and that strength/power/winning decides everything. Kaido's dream is also to die. Oda is the one who says Luffy and Co. breaks villains dreams. None of what happened broke any of Kaido's dreams. It's not hard to understand. Kaido isn't dead and Luffy isn't Joy Boy because of his overwhelming strength.
