Imagine if Mother mode never kick in:
-Pageone and Ulti would beat/kill off(Lol) Nami and Usopp, beat down Tama who would effect the whole storyline of the war.
-Franky would get his ass beaten down by Sasaki and his troup.
-Jinbe would lose to WsW and his crew.
-Inurashi would lose to Jack and his troup.
Actually you could get interesting plots with these above,like people helping out these above in their battle.
Or like legit why the wars in Shonen been always have the same system.
Kingdom as example, you have both sides losing fights and winning fights.
In Op I wish we would have something like that too, where both sides actually lose their battles and someone else need to kick in.
Would improve and grow up the characters even more and make the battles far more interesting.
