Not sure why Oda, for 70 chapters, would have Yamato tease repeatedly that she wants to join Luffy. Then say it this chapter for real with the rest of the crew, only to not do it lol.

If you think about Oda's writing style, it probably is over.

If you read the arc without thinking about Oda as the writer, you "feel" that it absolutely shouldn't end in such an anticlimatic way though.

That’s how I feel. I reread her versus Kaido last night and it’s honestly the peak of both characters. The dialogue was great. But I ain’t putting up with “Oden” for long.
