At this point Luffy has already defeated Kaido and it's been several chapters already.

I said this weeks ago, but Kaido getting back up would be a consequence of the fact that no one bothered to make sure he was down for good, in addition to the fact that there are no marines to conveniently arrest him right away.

And Zoro has yet to show what he means by becoming the Samurais new leading face, he who was heavily paralleled with Ryuma just recently by one of the Scabbards, with Tengu saying that in Zoro's hands, a new black blade might be born.
