But what suprised me the most, is that despite her sad background, there was a complete lack of emotional emphasis on Yamato during Wano final battle. I thought Oda would have dedicated several pages on her thoughts about being finally free and the defeat of her twenty years long tormentor... but nothing. Tama had much more emotional focus last week lol.
I was thinking okay, next chapter will the one... BOOM. 7 days have passed and we get silly bath stuff, everyone's over Kaido and everyone happy.
To be fair, that's a Post-TS problem.
Jinbe is awesome due to his introduction in Impel down and role in Wano and post-Wano, helping Luffy to keep it together.
If Jinbe only existed in FI, people would be complaining to this day to the fact that Jinbe doesn't seen to have a specific dream like the others SHs and bla bla bla.
Jinbe got a "shining support for Luffy" role while all the other SHs were not there to outshine him.
To this day I still feel weird about Jinbe being a de facto SH, but that's due to how much Oda stalled his entry until Onigashima.
Yamato appeared mid arc on an arc already full of other characters that barely get any screentime due to the how many there are.
So it's understandable in this regard, that Yamato didn't get time to show her character more and build more empathy.
imo
