A Wano citizen thought Joyboy was no longer in the country. It means that Wano citizens think it is the OLD Joyboy who has beaten Kaido. They are referring to prime Joyboy when they say that he rivals Ryuma. Huge W for Zoro fans. It is explicit that Ryuma=Joyboy and EOS Luffy=EOS Zoro. :cheers:

If you wanna see Oda unironically wasting his secondary cast you need to read Alabasta. That was the definiton of Oda wasting an entire faction of characters he created only for 1 arc.

I have O-Kiku 4th in my ranking for Wano Waifus. Loyal, modest and elegant, kind and passionate. Great character.

I am interested in seeing if Ivankov shows up with the revolutionaries, to give Kiku the ability to change her gender on a genital level.

I wouldn't care either way, I just love Kiku. Her interactions with Zoro and Luffy were a lot of fun to me, and I appreciate the deep love she had for Oden and the Scabbards as her family. To me, her saying she's not comfortable bathing around men who aren't the Scabbards means she's so comfortable with the Scabbards as her family, that, even though she identifies as a woman, she never felt uncomfortable bathing with them.

I still have Yamato number 1 from Wano (I feel dumb for thinking Oda couldn't introduce a Straw Hat late into the series and make me love them, after I waited so long for Jinbei to join), but O-Kiku is beautiful, inside and out.

The men are also awesome. King is hot on a variety of levels, and I have a lot of feelings regarding Denjiro's neck.

Literally does it all the time, people literally complain about how much he does it because they want him to force the characters in the story.

Oda insert them during the arc and lose control due to huge amount of plotlines.
What I'm talking about is: if you can't deal with one part of the cast, don't tease it.

It's not about giving more screen-time to side characters, it's about removing the ones who won't have enough attention.
Big Mom(and her pirates) in Wano is a literal big example of this.

It's much more a matter of bad planning than pure writing issues.

You're mixing up reputation with plot importance, even if the people of Wano don't wank him his plot importance is still there, he is still the guy that saved Hiyori (beloved Wano resident) and the guy that saved the people that took down the Yonko.
