Luffy vs Kaido was a battle of Haki mastery from conquerors whilst the parallel battle between Law, Kid and Big Mom was about Devil Fruits and Awakenings.

This serving as further proof that Haki is not superior like Kaido states as Big Mom is his equal and she’s reliant on fruit power over her own haki. Law and Kid’s Awakenings were the equivalent of Luffy being able to hurt Kaido with his Adv Coc.

Later on we will see Blackbeard someone who is DF dependent will serve as the ultimate challenge to Luffy. Teech is already grudgingly hated by Shanks the foremost haki master of the verse so this points even further to that direction.

I don’t doubt for a second that Xebec was a DF user and it took both Roger and Garp to stop him. Some fruits are just naturally so hax that they even exceed haki, like Hawkins for example, what haki will stop him from turning your ally into a voodoo and from there you can’t stop him without high cost, despite being only vet level he turned Kid into one. Haki can’t save you from being sucked into Blackbeard’s darkness.

Not being able to swim was a necessary nerf for the balance of powers, otherwise non powered haki weilders would be fk’d if a DF user tried to destroy the island and we already see with Marineford and Punk Hazard no hakiman is fk’ing with the DC of a Devil Fruit

You need to be proficient if you have both... Kaido relied too much with his Haki that's why he lost against Luffy's DF prowess... Same thing will happen if you do the opposite, as seen with Caribou getting one-shotted by Pekoms...

You use both if you have. Can't say God level EoS awakened Luffy with God tier haki cannot be compared to a God hakionly chad like Roger. If you have no haki only awakening and your opponent has God tier haki, you'll be mauled is what Kaido means. Haki can trump devil fruit powers but if the awakened one has similar chad haki, you get mauled too like G5 did to Kaido.

Facts. I swear Whitebeard never used his Quakes seriously against Roger. No haki in the world is stopping the most destructive devil fruits from reducing an island to nought.

Look at Punk Hazard. Kaido with mere flame clouds is making an island fly and become a deadly meteor and only a Devil Fruit could prevent the crash or be able to survive it

We also have Casear Clown one shotting everyone on Punk Hazard with hax alone

Kaido wanked Haki but used a DF based final attack that was overpowering Luffy's Bajrang gun until luffy's massive fist exuded what seemed to be flames.

Acoc in a swordsman's possession is a very lethal ability

and we don't know how strong IJ is

it might be sanji's Acoc derivative truly since believe in a blunt striker's hand it would would relie on how hard one hits with it exactly hence its efficiency.

Roger became PK without a df. He had an equal clash of haki against WB who had his quake power on top of it.

Haki is a boring power system and coc is the most boring type of haki. That's why I feel zero hype for Shanks and his crew. Most likely no one in Red Hair Pirates has a devil fruit, which makes them just abunch of deadbeat dads who use haki.... boring. BB's crew on the other hand are a bunch of powerful DF users, and that is why they are the main antagonists of the series.

Unless you're at the absolute top of Haki mastery, it's DF > Haki. Kaido used Roger as an example of someone who was DFless who managed to get to the top, but he also happens to be the strongest pirate canonically. Kaido himself was proven wrong because despite him having arguably stronger Haki than Luffy, he still got beaten by G5.

In their defense it was Kidd + Law together with Law having a busted df, while Luffy has awakening and advanced haki both
