lt's still coming and it's a body transformation as any Zoan fruits.. Take Chopper for instance his Monster Point is clearly his awakened form..

kaido's Magma Dragon is not a transformation he's simply surrounding himself with a whole lot of Boro Breath..

kaido's awakening is unavoidable he's talking of it to Luffy like he knows.. And that Luffy won't dominate the world with his abilities only Haki..
