Big Mom died to magma. King's signature attack is magma with haki. 
Big Mom couldn't put down regular human beings that have shit haki and never used hardening. Her homies are just element shit with no haki that literally everyone above vet level has tanked ex people stronger than Ulti or the germa jobbers with their raid suits. It's BM who doesn't have any feats or portrayal to defeat King, she can stalemate him or run away like she did with Marco.
