Does Green Bull have a black blade?

It very much looks like how Oda draws katanas, this time there’s no sheathe and no cross guard either. And thing is it can’t be him using hardening if he isn’t even holding the blade, I really don’t think this is a shading issue either that looks like a black blade to me.

I'd say no for now but it could very well be one. And then the question becomes has Green Bull blackened the blade or did he receive it blackened like Zoro with Shisui?

Either way, if it is indeed a black blade then we need to think about top 15 Swordsman Piece. It would catapult Aramaki way up there. Purely swordsman battle not accounting for DF, other skills or haki.

1 Mihawk (black blade)
2 Aramaki Green Bull (black blade?)
3 Shanks
4 Gorosei Gandhi
5 Fujitora
6 Rayleigh (bad stamina due to age)
7 Shiryu
8 Zoro
9 Vista
10 Hyogoro (Ice Demon, only short time)
11 King
12 Killer
13 Denjiro
14 Cracker
15 Law

It doesn't have a scabbard and it's going through his pants, there is a possibility that he just took it from somewhere, maybe from some grave in Wano.

Edit: looking closely the sword seems to be passing through his belt and it is difficult to discern if it has a scabbard or not.

Based on this single manga panel, yes
Because in all other panels Oda doesn't even draw it.

I couldn't tell properly how his sword looked like in the TCB fan scans, so I extracted the panel from the higher quality official Spanish scans to examine it.
Image resolution is 1438x2100 (highest I could find)

Looking closely at his pants, I can see the sword is inserted from the inside and sticks out from the outside (is that why his pants are ripped?) so its not really attached to the belt like some of us have assumed. Let's look at the sword now:

Without a doubt, there is no scabbard/sheath here... it looks too sharp and edgy for that to be possible. This is a blade, as you can clearly see the hamon (hardened outline) in the middle (yellow).

Here is another black blade (Shusui) for reference and comparison:

Or perhaps we are reading too much into this and he just coated his sword with the usual CoA black hardening...?
Even higher quality for more fun

No clue how strong he is and he has no hype. Last we know of him was when he was a 94 million rookie 2 years ago. That's Lip Doughty and Albion level. I think my top 15 is quite accurate if you just look at who's in it but I can certainly see every character sans Mihawk change places. And if we go by overall power level then Shanks is #1 and Law would rank a lot higher. When I think about it a bit more I can certainly see some of these make the top 15.

Honorable mentions
Squardo
Smoothie
Cavendish
Inuarashi
Momonga
Kyros
Amande
Kawamatsu
Thunder Lord McGuy
Kaku
Diamante

It certainly looks like one. Not saying it definitely is one, but all in all it would actually make a lot of sense aswell. His roots or in general his plant based moves are very vulnerable in nature, so that guy better is a CoA expert.

Now that Greenbull's time in Wano has come to an end and nobody in the verse ever seemed to give a damn about his blade, most likely no - it's probably some other color which Oda is forced to shade as black in the manga or CoA.

Especially since Wano is a country of Samurai where folks literally worship Ryuma's Kokuto Shusui & yet not a single soul even bothered to remark about Aramaki's supposed Kokuto.

no cause blackblades are always highlighted whenever they are shown ( it didnt happen with gb in the entirety of wano ) they are a big deal and i doubt an admiral who pissed himself from shanks has a blackblade

No chance of that being the case anymore Aramaki is too reliant on his df from what we have seen
There are only two confirmed characters that achieved this feat the current strongest swordsman and Ryuma god of the blade. Aramaki has nothing in common with either

Oh so Aramaki created entirely new colored sword with just his haki?

Thanks for the hype

They don't worship the sword because it's black. They worship it because it belonged to Ryuma.
Learn the difference.

Did you want them to kneel in front of Aramaki or something when they came to slaughter them?

At this point we can say for sure is not the case.
He is a DF user and black blades are a swordsmen peak stuff.
He didn't even use it.

So that sword is simply all black. Or (less likely since there's no point) it's coated with Armament.
