I mean, it's pretty reductive to think Shanks only did something because he couldn't defeat other Yonko. He literally says him and Luffy will meet very soon. Luffy has stated he wants to fight and defeat Shanks.

Shanks simply waited for Luffy to become a Yonko. Now he's heading to One Piece, where he and luffy will (probably) fight anyway

Aramaki should defeat the scabbard + Yamato with minimal. If not, then Kaido would basically mid diff Aramaki.
