If Oda wrote a One Piece Spinoff, what would be the best spinoff series?

My problem is with this is that, you can just make jokes out of plot lines that were previously serious.

It’s okay if Oda wants to be playful with battles, but making Luffy vs Kaido a gag after all the build up just killed the tension and made it boring. The same will happen if Luffy fights BB/Akainu/Imu because they’ve all been shown as serious characters.
Yeah, but based on this translation

it does seem like that's what he wants to do

he even says he doesn't want One Piece to be a serious battle manga here in the end, he wants to be more fun and playful and that's what he wants to do from now on, at least for Luffy's battle that is

so i think we should expect more fights from Luffy that follow that

After reading Oda's new interview

i can see what he means by Gear 5th, and why he likes it, i can respect the decision

but i can't say i will ever actually enjoy it tbh

i think a lot of fans should give that interview a read

especially some Admirals fans who are expecting super cool and edgy battles against Luffy

that's just not happening i guess
I think Oda got a point.

These days everything has to be super serious and dark which audiences mistake for "mature".

He's been a mascot for decades, I was just correcting the claim that he hasn't shown a power up since pre time skip since needing rumble balls for 5 minutes of alt forms was a huge nerf he lost.
Its not a PU.... more of a buff. Hes still the same strength.

Pre timeskip he had fights, he had focus, he had plotlines and subplots. Post timeskip hes had one subplot and zero fights or focus.

I think what he meant is that there will be some playful elements in the battle....like it was there all the time in every luffy battle...
No, he is very specific in this translation that he always hated that he had to go more serious with time

and he wants to be playful, and Gear 5th was that

he even says he doesn't care if people don't like it, because he likes it

i think this interview made it clear that he has plans to do more of that for Luffy's fights at least going forward

Chopper losing Arm Point is just evil. The form was very strong and arguably as useful as MP (due to how convinient and fast moving it was).

If Chopper still had Arm Point, hed easily still be Mid Trio lvl....and wouldve given Perospero a run for his money on the Sunny.

he even said only one character can pull the pranks and that is Luffy...he said it was difficult to draw that only Luffy had to pull the pranks...yes, I agree going forward, there will be such gags like we always had before....even in the series of the series situation...g3 chiby Luffy is the ultimate gag around that time....

You claim I'm using an excuse when in reality all I claimed was that he was simply diseased and quite blatantly weakened by said disease. He obviously was still QUITE strong, just not as much as he was in his prime. Meanwhile admiral suckers keep trying to defend a newbie admiral who got dicked down and cum dumped by a recovering Yamato and scabbards
He wasn't suffering any heart diseases before the war though.
Do realize that cardiac arrest and heart attack do occur when an impact to the chest is strong enough and/or blood loss occurs.

Don't be that "omg you cheated in a war! You suck!" guy, bruh.

I dont know what to think about the admirals After this chapter... GB take a huge hit by Yamato but it seems that it doesn't hurt him that much and in the other hand GB + Fuji can't stop Revo because of the Land where they fought... Mixed feelings
