Character Discussion Thoughts on Basil Hawkins

What are your thoughts on Basil Hawkins as a character so far, and what do you think of his devil fruit ability?

I fuckin love the supernova in general

Best non SH supernova imo. Awesome Df, only one not to shit himself when a freaking Admiral shows up to his door step.
Design is dope, DF is lowkey haux if he can stores countless dolls and get tanks to use them from.

The way Oda went with the character, he has very good potential from his monster form, cards expanding powers, calculative, and his predictions

Furthermore than this, he is one of the few characters that may gain some character growth this arc from his perspective of always following his cards to avoid risky situations to maybe ending in a situation where for the first time he'd decide to take risks to grow

Also has a month prediction that will still play a role at one point during this arc imo, with him having unrevealed secrets yet like his curse or ultimate cards, with his arc potential only falling short to Luffy, Kid, Law and Zoro imo

Which is why i'm very interested in the way his development will continue this arc

I was dissapointed in him putting so much effort in hunting Law for the Beast Pirates who forced him into the crew.

I think first thing he would say is that Hawkins is the strongest nova with the strongest fruit, which isn't that far from reality.

One of my fav SNs,can't wait to see more from his DF and cards,also love that his crew is based on mystics,magic and religion(would be cool if we got the introduction of them in this arc,so far we know that the cat mink is named Faust).

Cool power, but hasn't really done anything of note to impress me as a character.

I love his power and he was a decent antagonist for a while. A pity Drake saved Law, Hawkins deserved a much better end.
I hope he is dead though, otherwise Law is a fool

He was smarter than Kidd, but dumber than Apoo. His voodoo power is sick butting doesn’t match Kaido’s beast theme, plus I wouldn’t wanna be on his crew

I actually like him more than Law or Kidd. He's always so quotable and methodical, like a JoJo character. He ends up being a bit of a coward due to the whole going with the cards thing, so he's not really ally material though.

BUT... I think Law is going to sabotage Luffy at some point, so at least Hawkins is upfront about that.
