Actually it is likely Shanks pulled exactly the same feat against Kaido just as I predicted. I said months ago that the only way Kaido would be unscarred from Shanks and still know that he is dangerous is by demonstrating his king's haki. And here we are look and behold he is doing exactly that.

I agree with this to a certain degree.
It's quite logical that shanks and kaido never fought for real because: a) shanks was clean right after. b) kaido doesn't have a scar from shanks. It should be a haki clash like WB and Shanks did but i would never believe that shanks make Kaido fear for his life just by coc burst.
Shanks, oden, roger WB and rocks were people who could fight kaido on equal ground not above him.
I do agree though that shanks and kaido didn't fight in marineford arc.
