They were 12 years ago.

The Shanks that lost his arm to a sea king was stronger than the one who fought Mihawk.

There’s 0 reason to think they’re comparable in power now.
The reason is Oda saying otherwise, spamming headcanon is not going to change that.
I just posted a translation from the movie promo that mentions Shanks CoC and Mihawk being stronger than him. The big boys are saved for last. :kobeha:

So Shanks is the real WSS, Mihawk is a fraud and Zoro's dream is meaningless. Got it. Matches Oda's recent patterns I guess
Shanks doesn't care about mastering his swordmanship. He's strong because of his haki.

Just because Mihawk and Zoro are the only two who care about WSS, it doesn't take anything away from it because it's a personal goal for them.

Haki was why Roger conquer the sea. It's clear he isn't a top tier because he uses a sword.

King debunked that idea, pirates don't care about being a swordmans. Haki is used with swordmanship but pirates don't train their haki to enhance their swordmanship, that's reserved only for Mihawk and Zoro.
And you need haki to be the WSS.

Cabaji and Kaku were still considered swordsmen. Cabaji barely used his sword while Kaku threw his swords away, yet were still swordsmen. Haki doesn't exempt Shanks from being a swordsman.

You can make arguments for haki, but meteors and hax surgery have nothing to do with swordsmanship. Don't know about guys like Roger, Rayleigh and Shanks but there are only 2 guys as of now who recognize Mihawk as this legendary swordsman, and these are the very same 2 who've been seen to use actual sword attacks, Vista and Zoro (fodder like Brook aside)
Giraffe fruits, unicycles and fire also got nothing to do with swordmanship but those users were still swordsmen.

Agreed, Cabaji used a unicycle as part of his swordmanship and Kaku used his feet and part of his.
It's all about your swordmanship and mastering it.

Oda confirmed Gryphon isn't Shanks main fighting style, he doesn't care about swordmanship so he along with Law and Fuji aren't under Mihawk title.

Master swordsman. Give up Candyboi, this convo isn't for okama lovers. You have no concept of narrative, power levels and much less about haki since your self insert still has worse haki than pts Usopp. :myman:

Oda blurred the lines too much. How are we supposed to know what's considered "swordsmanship" and what isn't when people use swords in such a wide variety of ways? I mean, Zoro has literally manifested extra heads and arms in his fights, yet he is still considered a "pure swordsman" for some reason. I don't get it.

That would be Yonkou and Admiral fans, the latter don't even have CoC users. :crazwhat:
Mihawk fans leeching hard.

Cabiji already said he was using tricks and. he was going to use real swordsmenship, hacchi is a stronger swordsmen then swordsmen doesn’t mean he’s stronger overall Kaku is a stronger swordsmen then lucchi doesn’t mean he’s stronger overall

In a Mihawk-less world people wouldn't change ''Surgeon of Death'' to WSS if Law was the strongest sword user next in line since that's not the source of his reputation, the WSS represents Mihawk's reputation for being specifically known for challenging and winning against swordsmen but at the same time we know there's no conclusive evidence of who is stronger between him and Shanks.

There's simply no way to tell unless they fight each other again.

Its crazy that mihawk has so little feats or hype that anything shanks does, mihawk fans have to try and take it to be hype for them. how does he even have fans at this point lol
