That's literally CoC intimidation that we've been seeing since the introduction of CoC. Shanks just used a much stronger version of it. Haki is a power you use to fight. It's not a fighting style. Haki in layman's terms is nothing more than a type of energy you use to augment your attacks. Zoro uses CoC too. He's not suddenly "not a swordsman."
