What is not plausible is trying to put him on the same level as a mere admiral when canonically Fujitora is inferior to Mihawk, and Mihawk is inferior to Kaidou.

Kaidou > Mihawk > Fujitora.

Remember that Aramaki said that it was a shame for a admiral to lose to commanders a couple of chapters ago. Jack managed to fight 2 admirals (sengoku and Fujitora... ok 1 admiral and 1/4) and sink 2 ships. The dukes are commander level in sulong.

Yeah but at least a lot of time we see the importance this rivalry is on the characters.

We know Asta will be the wizard king, but Yuno is at least always relatively comparable

We knew Naruto would be hokage, but Sasuke and him were still close

However, both times if you take out their rivals the protagonists growth slows. Take out Law and Kid and not only does luffy not change, but the manga barely changes.

Do we really though? I’d honestly say Naruto vs Sasuke is one of the few well done rivalries I’ve seen

Most other manga don’t fully flesh out both characters or give them the same treatment

Asta and Yuno are actually a pretty good example
