Chuunin Exams and Wave Country arc are great in the anime too if you get the time. Toshiro Masuda does the series such an incredible favour and it feels like a complete love letter to Japan as well as Medieval Gothic (like Notre Dame) in places and such too.

The music is extremely special and adds immensely to the experience imo.
