Character Discussion Arbel's future

It's not news to anyone that Wano's ending ignored so much, and for me one of those was the connection between King and Joyboy.

King believed Kaido was Joyboy, or at least he saw the possibility of it. The story suggests that his people were driven from their land and they saw hope in Joyboy who we also know to be Nika the Liberation Warrior.

I expected to see at the end of Wano some interaction between Arbel and Luffy, but Oda hid this information from the characters, who knows it's Momo and Yamato and they didn't bother to tell anyone.

Of course in the future this will be revealed to the world and at this point do you think King can be reused in the manga?

I can see King allying himself with the great fleet, maybe even in Wano he'll find out about Joyboy and ally himself with Yamato.

What do you think about this?

In my opinion, King initially believed the legend that he probably heard from his people that Joy Boy would appear and change the world & was waiting for him.

He was then captured by the WG & then experimented on, and then freed by Kaido. As he says to a younger Kaido, whether Joy Boy would come or not does not matter since his loyalty to Kaido takes precedence over a legend and even the World that he once wished to see.

An older Kaido even tells King that Joy Boy/the man King & his people have been waiting for is the person who would defeat him. King replies that they'd probably never see someone like that despite knowing that Joy Boy would come and that it isn't true.

He knew Kaido wasn't Joy Boy and he knew that the world Kaido wants to build is different from the one he was waiting for Joy Boy to build - and yet he followed Kaido till the very end due to his Loyalty.

I have developed a theory about Arbel's future role in the story. If I'm right, it could be quite a big role, actually. If you're interested, it's in the King the Wildfire Fanclub thread.

It is true that King's loyalty to Kaido took precedence over his old dream, however, now that Kaido is dead, what will he decide to do? Try to fulfill a dead man's dream he did not even believe in? Or will he finally feel free again to choose his own path?
