I saw an ad for software that uses AI to let you automatically create paintings using AI generation/rendering to draw mountains as you stroke lines with your fingers or stylus or Whatever. In the video, they created mountains, rivers, skies instantly, when it would take digital artists tons of hours to the same, maybe even 40-50?!

Dall-E/Craiyon with their AI generated images is blowing my mind too. Especially the full version that is not public access. But even the free version is insane!

Then there's Deepfakes and the insane shit Photoshop, After Effects, video editors, 3D modelling and animators can do now, Unreal Engine 5 and Photorealistic graphics in games, Virtual Reality becoming closer to Matrix/Ready Player One etc IRL...

That Futarama, Jetsons or whatever future gradually seems less unreachable, ridiculous, extreme etc over the years, even if its slowly/slightly.

I'm rambling randomly anyway. You can tell I'm starting to get old especially by today's standards too LMFAO!

As some artists put it, "AI" is just a marketing term for automated plagiarism that takes people's artwork without permission and smashes it together to attempt to make something. It's not that impressive. And you vastly overestimate how long it takes artists to draw/paint stuff. Here's just one 1 hour sketch from an artist I like

Anyway, going to sleep. I have to take care of some mice as part of my research and the mice have had too much. One of them is in too much pain. Have to sacrifice it tomorrow.

These mice are making me depressed. If any of you decide to do graduate studies, don't select Cancer Biology. At least, don't go to a lab which specializes in mice models.

Yeah I used to adore Jetsons and Futuramas worlds a lot, as as well Dexters Lab and such.

There is definitely a dystopian vibe though in these futures, especially Futarama ofc but Jetsons did come off as too good to be true when I saw it as a child too. I'd probably scrutinise that society they have a lot more naturally, be a lot more aware of how flawed it actually is.
I actually wanna rewatch it and remind myself too, understand why it seemed so dystopian.
I know George used to get screwed over a lot like that and Family Guy really ripped into that too lol.
