Seriously, what is the big issue with Shanks being weaker than Mihawk? How does it diminish Shanks' role in the story?

On the other hand if Shanks, as a swordsman, was actually stronger than Mihawk, then Zoro's goal to beat Mihawk and achieve his dream becomes a joke
