The thing is that shanks is a confirmed swordsman thought.
Even in this chapter he is addressed as a swordman, in the movie he was fighting only with a sword and in the manga, it's time he is serious, he is touching/grabbing that sword.
I mean, i know you are trolling but there is not a single panel of shanks attacking with something else.
CoC attacks like damaging a ship would never work on a top tier. Adv CoC attacks would definitely work but after zoro did it, Mihawk definitely has that ability.

Anyways it makes complete sense. Luffy never said Zoro was his FM.....so the only way to rank the SHs was based on bounties.

For Mihawk, He's WSSM, so his bounty is bigger than the aforementioned.
