Nah, original OP was simply gonna be the battle against the four emperors, with Teach's original yami making him invincible to damage, and as strong as 3 admirals before he dropped those ideas entirely.

I think that was just initial idea not drawn in manga. In skypeia we get more lore because it was at that time, he wanted to solve the mysteries as far as I know...if Oda knew that he would go this long with one piece...skypeia would be dogshit with no info at all.
