we've known about vegapunk for over 600 chapters
he works for WG, no sign of any inner dispute or anything
then suddenly the straw-hats step on the island and WG wants to kill him?
it feels forced
even if SHs push the story forward, Oda should could have made it feel more organic than this

We knowing about vegapunk for 650 chapter don't mean much .
In world time it has been 2 years and shit ton of stuff has change just in the last 2 months.
We not even certain if them know the SH are there , just like how they decide to wipe out that island and sabo was unlucky he was there.

It's clear Oda wants some conection between SHs and VP but the path he is taking irks of plot convenience.



Yes, VP lying about artificial df could be a reason but thing is CP0 is coming to kill VP and not capture him. To me, capturing vp makes more sense than killing him

Now here lies some issues which I hope gets addressed

1)Does CP0 know how to control seraphims on the island because I am sure VP will have control over them

2)Does WG even seek for explanation from VP about momo dfs... I hope they did and oda show this

That's usually only when the chapter fuels an agenda or is a powerscaling chapter. Chapters like this are generally pretty quiet. See last chapter's discussion.

The simple truth could be they simple keep him around cause they were waiting for the new PX to done and now getting rid of him because of what ever the reason .
You had sengoku saying they would have kill garp because of his famliy but him being a marine hero save him lol.
