Whatever happens in this arc, Luffy will meet Vegapunk eventually, after all of the shit with CP0 hunting him down and wanting to kill him on behalf of WG. Vegapunk will say some crap about there being pirates who are not actually evil just like Luffy and he will change his allegiance and join fucking Revolutionary Army

I fucking hope that Akainu makes Marines a separate organization. WG are the most retarded fucks in the world if they are really aiming for Vegapunk's head.
