But issue is Sanji generally has a very insecure fan base that is attached to Zoro.

Basically this chapter was to show Zoro is the boss of the crew and biggest threat when Luffy isn't around. He calls the shots..he protects everyone..he assumes role of captain.

But since Sanji fans have this never ending delusion that Sanji is up there with Zoro..when Sanji himself doesn't think he's anywhere near Zoro in hierarchy..they are coping and doing over time with coping.

Look at Jinbei fans? They ain't crying
Nico Robin fans ain't crying.

But Sanji fans have hard time accepting reality.

If we disregard that element no Zoro fan really gives a fuck about Sanji.

True it’s dumb the way some Sanji fans handle the whole vice captain thing. Sanji isn’t even someone who cares about such matters but still does it anyway to piss off Zoro, but when shit hits the fan Zoro is the one who preemptively carries the responsibility even when Luffy is around too, but at the end of the day both wings respect each other and expect the other to hold responsibility over the crew fodder.
