I don't see the build up for the death of an important character like Law atleast not yet.

He had a red flag since Dressrosa with that ability revealed. He has to sactifice himself for it to work, Blackbeard would surely aim for it.

Orchestrated NF war to recruit a crew of level 6 and steal WB's power
Law's ability regarded as the ultimate ability - attributed to the eternal life surgery, Blackbeard would want that for sure.

I can agree with everything you said but timing is off and it's too sudden.


There wasn't any build up to this fight and it came out of nowhere.

Oda will definitely build something to pull dying of major character like law.

I would argue his importance, he has fulfilled his role as a new gen pirate by guiding Luffy to Kaido, we’re so close to raftel and he and Luffy are leagues apart in strength to consider any type of legit rivalry.
We have Teach aiming for the world throne and the Ope having said technique that can potentially let you control the world. Crydo & Meme were such terrible villains that something like this can be out of the blue, but fortunately we have Blackbeard and Akainu now and their record has been nothing but red since their debut.

This is the perfect chance to hype up Blackbeard and fulfill Ope’s potential, get some D. clan lore and some intel on Whang Zhi/ Rocks.

I don't think law will die here.

First, BB didn't kill Ace. His fight with Ace lead to Ace death but he didn't actually kill Ace.

Second, the build up for an important and popular character death is missing here.

I mean who expected before this chapter that BB will fight Law that too so soon? No one

So there had been no build up and I don't see Oda pulling death like this when he didn't do so in 4 years long arc of wano.


This whole thing about BB vs Law is just Oda connecting 4 things together

1)Rocky Port incident
2)God Valley incident
3) Prominent Ds of this era - BB, Luffy and Law
4) Laugh tale


Law might die in the future but not here. But he is still getting wrecked to build some tension and hype BB 🤭

Once Oda connected the plots then I see Oda pulling law's death by the hands of BB
