Vegapunk knows a lot of stuffs about DF so he probably discovered the secret around them
He's described as so intelligent that it's not impossible he found a way to read Poneglyphs

As for why they didn't sent CP0 to Luffy and Robin
Luffy is a Younko so he's part of the balance.
His position is unknown.

Yeah I hated this
it already ruined the arc for me

up till now we knew Vegapunk as the scientist who works with the government but all of a sudden with his introduction we see the government trying to kill him, and by who by an old enemy of the strawhats

disappointing to say the least

Or, there is just another Vegapunk alike figure growing up now and Vegapunk is simply too advanced and they have to get rid of him as a part of great cleansing to remain at the top of the food chain before he becomes too dangerous to them/someone takes his tech to take advantage over WG.

Today, for the umpteenth time in WorstGen, a person with zero knowledge of history claims something to be stupid and bad writing in spite of actually happening in our world many times.

And since odds are Vegapunk is working with the Revolutionary Army, it actually makes more sense to kill him than many real world events that lead to the execution of geniuses.

WG never had any smart ideas. I mean CP0 bunch couldn’t even capture Nico Robin in the midst of the raid and instead opted to interfere in the “World Class” battle between Kaido and Luffy. And now they’re even getting exposed by Morgan. :kobeha:

Vegapunk can be linked to Gol D Roger himself, it is still a shitty plot line. So let us go after Vegapunk, the person who helped create all these weapons for us because he is "working with dragon" and yet let us the World Government and Marines sit on our asses and not go after the actual person Dragon. A+ writing there.

Literally Doffy was working for Kaido and the WG knew and let him, Fujitora told Law it is okay to work with the straw hats and they won't go after they strawhats unless they are under you but Law refused, WG allowed people all the time to work with people that are their enemies and WG didn't bat an eye.

Akainu still sitting on his ass talking via a den den mushi while the WG still is sitting on the same coaches from 800 chapters ago sedning fodder CP0 agents to go after Vegapunk instead of them going after Dragon who is the bigger threat. Another ally for Luffy, how convenient.

So what's the alternative here, let Vegapunk help the only force in the entire world that is actively trying to destroy the Government so it can achieve the same level of technology (potentially higher if they're Vegapunk's true allignment) as theirs?

None of your counterexamples are remotely comparable. Vegapunk is 500 hundred years ahead into the future; you don't want to take the risk of such man helping your only direct enemy.

Also, again, this has happened in real world. Killing Vegapunk here actually makes more sense than executing Socrates or convicting Turing for his homosexuality to the point of driving him to suicide.

The alternative is actually simple, WG should get the fuck off their chairs they have been sitting on for the past 800 chapters and should go after Dragon. That is the alternative, Einstein. This isn't rocket science. WG top priorities should be Luffy, then Robin, then Dragon and for Vegapunk you capture him. One thing you definitely shouldn't write is to send fodder CP0 agents to try and kill him.

It's obvious it's easier for them to kill Vegapunk than catching freaking Dragon (who is bound to be one of the most powerful people in the whole world) plus killing every commander (who normally aren't even in the same place) plus extinguishing the entire Army (which is far bigger than just one man). That isn't an alternative, Einstein. Also, we don't even know for a fact if his relationship with Dragon is the only factor here; for all we know, Im could just want to stop Vegapunk from reaching the technological level of the Great Kingdom (especially if Im's power is an ancient weapon as thought).

You don't even know whether Vegapunk is powerful enough to survive those "fodder CP0 agents" ambushing him or not, by the way.

My guy, this is a fictional story. Oda can easily write them being able to find Dragon location just like how BB just conveniently was able to find Law. Also, who gives a flying fuck if Dragon is powerful? World government is powerful too, who cares how powerful he is. How weak is the WG if they aren't even willing to go after their top enemies. That is terrible writing to make the WG that weak and pathetic.
