And this isn't limited to just girls, look at Sanji in WCI arc. But OP girls have it worst.

It took them 10 days to change PH to the extent that it was at the end of their fight. Obviously the climate would get more extreme as they continue to fight... They could have changed the climate after 1 day, but it wouldn’t be as bad

more extreme ? i think Akainu's Awakening is just him using Magma beneath the ground and to match that Aokiji maybe can create Ice Mountains or extreme Ice Storm .... so yes i think Punk Hazard was already terraformed since day 1 , the only thing that might not be there since day 1 is the lake in the middle of PH as the result of 95 % of Aokiji's and Akainu's attacks colliding
