Both use hax and inflict abnormal status to their targets instead of direct damage. Aokiji has frozen abnormal status, dr. Q has sickness abnormal status.
But as long as target's haki is strong enough, they can resist the abnormal status. So Aokiji's frozen is nerfed even more after what happened with dr. Q.
