I think it's not mera mera. He defeated Ace once and instead of killing him to get the fruit, he gave Ace to Navy for Shichibukai title.

That's debatable imho. We simply don't know how strong Boa really is. She has a completely broken DF and CoC though, so we can guess that she might be really strong.

What was bothering me more was simply the completely baseless Coby hype. This dude is two years removed from being absolute one-shot fodder to pre-skip Luffy and still hasn't shown anything impressive to even put him in pre-skip Blueno category. He managed to eliminate a rocket, wow, what a biggie. Literally all low tier fighters in OP can do that.
To even mention him in the same sentence as "captures Hancock", "Lucci level" or "might be YC level" is sheer stupidity. Don't know what some users were thinking.

I put my faith in Garp being his master and the focus Oda gave to his Haki awakening.

And then he sent Burgess to retrieve it from Doflamingo in Dressrosa after the timeskip. Teach probably thought "I'll give it away in exchange for Shichibukai status and just steal it later lul". You have a good point though. Going after Yoru would be unexpected and it's just as valuable, if not more valuable than a Devil Fruit. Assuming Shiryu can wield it properly.
