If lucci get rubberized by luffy's powers...... how does it work exactly? It doesn't seem like they need to be touching but close proximity. If Luffy can turn you into a rubber man by just being near him.... What's stop someone with a care free creative mind from fighting just like him?

What happened to Sentomaru? The dude is dying and Luffy is goofing around. :hope:
Luffy doesn't give af about his fat ass. Do you remember how he reacted to raizo getting stabbed?

Honestly not sure why people actually hate Gear 5. This is the first form with actual potential on creativity when it comes to what he can do (which is basically anything he thinks of).
I don't mind it, but I think the one thing I have a problem with is that the attacks Luffy lands don't really have the same impact for me as his attacks before.

Those Chapters after 1010 when Luffy was fighting Kaido with ACoC were so good imo. I don't usually get hyped up reading manga but that absolute monster of a Gear 2/3 gut punch + that ACoC headbutt clash were so amazing to me.

When it comes to when Luffy hitting someone and rubberizes their body, this page as an example, it doesn't hit as hard for me . I think if there was more of an outline of Luffy's fist when he punches through Lucci's body instead of a rubber blob it'd go a long way in terms of impact.

He shoots himself towards Lucci like a slingshot and then punches him into the gut. Look right next to Lucci, there's Luffy's arm that leads to Luffy's body. Looks like it could be a somewhat enlargened fist
Thank you for pointing that out cause I was having trouble as well
I ain't so good with clarity when it comes to black and white pages
colored pages ftw

Like Kaido, i think it's just a matter of contact. If Luffy hits you, the impact is cartoony so you turn into a cartoon as well. once the hit is over, you return to normal

I like Gear 5th as an idea, the design, the powers and what it does.

I don't like it executed in fights, because the fights don't feel hype, or serious, or tense, or anything. They just feel like goofy fights.

If that's the intent, great. But it just isn't what i enjoy in fights.

People will find something to complain about all the time.
Just look at all the bitching about how "fights became all about who has stronger haki" yet we get a powerup that goes against that and they don't like it either. :kayneshrug:

Taking a closer look, I actually think it's Luffy's head.
I dunno, still think it's his arm, cause he's spinning his arm in one of the smaller panels before the impact
