It doesn't matter how long Kaido has had his devil fruit. Whose been pushing him to his limit over the past 40 years, allowing for him to push the boundaries of his Devil Fruit? Devil Fruit awakenings don't just happen because you've had them for so long. Luffy had to literally die to awaken his devil fruit. Something Kaido has not even been close to a single time in his entire life as a pirate.
Bro thats a pathetic and poor excuse ; Kaido a penultimatum villain for first half of saga ; possibly strongest zoan user does not have awakening? WTF you smoking?? Awakening is based on jack shit. Its simply oda handling them to imp characters like doffy/Kata the main villains of their arc or Main characters like SNs. Kaido possibly the strongest pirate of current era who uses a DF doesn't have awakening is beyond bullshit and there is no explaining it.
Its not about strongest ability. Its more basic ability and level in this case. When every main villain has awakening its obvious to expect one the most imp villain will have one. I can understand if its about haki as characters can specialize in different forms of Haki.

I did, as did a lot of people. But I am no longer bothered by the fact that him or Big Mom ended up not having it, after seeing how much of a power jump it gives people. And then I started thinking about it and realized Oda did give them both CoC coating which is another OP ability, and it started making sense that he can't just give every Top Tier every OP ability.
They're already broken characters to begin with. What happens when the next OP haki ability comes around? Then it's why doesn't Kaido and Big Mom have this ability, and then the next one, and the next one, and so on and so forth.
And then I start thinking about, what about other Top Tiers who don't even have Devil Fruits, or maybe don't even have CoC, and yey can compete with Kaido and Big Mom? Now those two are starting to look bad. Broken devil fruits, awakening, AdCoC, getting competition by those who maybe only have one or the other, but not all of the above.
When thinking about it like that, I can see the reasoning behind not giving them awakening, or whatever the next couple OP abilities are that will inevitably pop up.
