The Supernovas (bar Luffy and Zoro).
This group were supposed to become Luffy’s rivals to the Pirate King throne. They have all had a whole two year head start on Luffy and what have they achieved?
Nothing.
Absolutely, nothing.
Currently, Pre-TS Luffy legitimately has more achievements under his belt than all the Post-TS Supernovas combined.
Now, Post-TS Luffy is going to achieve in two months or less what all the Supernovas could not achieve in two years.
The Supernovas are arguably the most poorly executed idea Oda has ever had.

Regardless of whether they are or they are not, that is a poor excuse for their mediocre execution and implementation into the story (both of which are up to Oda).
If he was going to care that little for them due to such a weak reason then maybe he should have never entertained them being in the story in the first place.

I think he executed it quite well. Every year there are a lot of pirates with big bounties going on the new world and they get rekt.

I think people in the fandom had too much expectations for some of them, pre ts they weren't all on Luffy's level yet they are still doing all right for themselves.
Don't forget that luffy was smart (even though it was rayleigh idea) enough to realise he and his crew needed training, which is why they are doing a lot better now. That and because he's the MC.
The Worst Gen had to survive by themselves, meanwhile luffy was trained by a master of haki the right hand man of Roger himself and zoro was under the training of the WSS.

Exactly what has all this got to do with their utter lack of accomplishments and their combined complete inability to compete with Luffy despite being introduced as his supposed rivals?
The entire point of a rival is to provide meaningful competition. The Supernovas are consistently forced by the story to assist Luffy. They provide no meaningful competition whatsoever. Not only that but Luffy is now so far ahead of them that any potentially realistic rivalry could only ever be grossly one sided.
