There seems to be 3 options regarding who ends up being luffy's final enemy
1. Blackbeard
2. Imu
3. Akainu
The most popular opinion among the fandom is that Luffy's final opponent will be Blackbeard, and that Zoros final opponent will be Mihawk. However, both these options can't be correct at the same time. One of them has to be wrong.
We know how the formula goes. When luffy fights the captain, zoro fights the "right hand" or the next strongest person in the crew. Meaning that when Luffy is fighting Blackbeard, Zoro would be fighting Shiryu. Therefore if Blackbeard ends up being luffys final opponent, that would make Zoro's final opponent be Shiryu, not Mihawk. This is one of the reasons why i don't think Blackbeard is the final villain. Most people expect zoro to fight an admiral at some point as well. Do people really think that zoro will fight Shiryu AFTER hes defeated both Mihawk and an admiral? Shiryu just doenst have that kind of potrayal. And the same logic applies to sanji as well. Most people expect sanji to fight an admiral too. So do people really think that sanji will defeat an admiral before he fights...burgess? It just doesnt work.
Now you might ask, "can't zoro fight mihawk later after luffy has defeated blackbeard?" Well, since Luffy is the main character, luffys final fight has to be the final fight of the series and the climax. There is no way that Zoro vs Mihawk can happen after luffy's final fight has already finished. This applies to the next 2 options as well.
Now to the next most popular choice for final villain, Imu. I don't think Imu is even a fighter in the first place, but a lot of people do and think he is Top 1. So if Imu is indeed a fighter and Luffy's final opponent, i guess that would make zoro's final opponent the gorosei with the sword, "the actual world strongest swordsman in secret". The problem with this is that it would make Mihawks title quite literally fraudulent, if this geezer swordsman is indeed stronger. Regardless, that particular gorosei doesnt have any potrayal of that sort. All 5 of the gorosei worship and submit to imu, but there is no potrayal differences or ranking among the 5 gorosei themselves. They are all on the same level. Its not like that one particular bald gorosei has been shown to be special and above the others. Its ridiculous to think that one particular gorosei is stronger than mihawk while the other gorosei are commander level or something so that they can be beaten by other strawhats like franky. Regardless, i dont think imu or any of the gorosei are strong fighters at all.
So next we move on to Akainu. When Luffy is fighting Akainu, then we would expect Zoro to be fighting an admiral
Meaning that if Akainu is Luffys final fight, that would make zoro's final opponent an admiral. This is what makes sense to me. Whitebeard implied that the final war would happen after the one piece is found. Thats why i think Luffy will defeat blackbeard to obtain the one piece and be hailed as the pirate king before he enters the final war. Likewise, Zoro will enter the final war as the worst strongest swordsman after defeating Mihawk.
So in conclusion, Luffy's final opponent- Akainu
Zoro's final opponent- An admiral
