I need to note two things:
1. Do you remember how Luffy ran to the rooftop in Onigashima for a couple of chapters - Kizaru sailing to Eghead Island starts to look the same - at the beginning we were shown that he might be already offshore, most assumed he could even use light speed - nope.
2. We get another important/interesting plot taking place outside of Egg Head, in which known and important characters appear - i have a feeling that this is a prelude to what the Great War will look like.
Many different places of action, intertwined with events affecting them.
